American Golden Plover Spotted in Kent

A grant of £270,000 to Kent Wildlife Trust was awarded in 2005 through our Biodiversity Challenge Fund. This is a four year project to develop and enhance the biodiversity value of this National Coastal Nature Reserve, Sandwich & Pegwell Bay.

The aims of the project are:

• Increase the native biodiversity through habitat creation
• Enhance an internationally important site of nature conservation for the benefit of rare species
• Raise levels of public awareness and involvement in caring for our precious natural environment
• Encourage more visitors by improving access and providing a quality wildlife and nature conservation experience.
