Matt Young BSc, MSc
Matt has been with GrantScape for nine years, five of which as Director of the charity's Grants Team. His LCF community and environmental grant-making experience includes:
- Representing GrantScape on the Association of Distributive and Environmental Bodies (ADEB), the representative body for LCF practitioners
- Consultancy work for 2 other major LCF funders
- Serving as GrantScape's principal point of contact with ENTRUST, the LCF regulator
- Establishing bespoke LCF grant programmes for a range of landfill operators in england and Wales
- Designing finding criteria and application materials for a variety of LCF grant programmes, including GrantScape's pioneering £10m 'Biodiversity Challenge Fund'
- Creating simple and more complex application scoring systems to aid grant decision-making
- Assessing applications against eligibility, funding and judging criteria
- Forming, training and working with local, regional and specialist grant panels
- Supporting groups through the grant application process, dealing with queries on eligibility and on completing their applications
- Managing relationships with grant recipients throughout the delivery of their projects
- Giving presentations on the LCF at conferences and seminars, and delivering specialist training on raising funds through the LCF
